Elections: How Not to Hand Over Your Consciousness to Fear and Hatred

October 13, 2026

We are going through an especially intense period. And I have noticed that many people are being caught off guard by the strength of what they are feeling: a mix of fear, apprehension, anger, and despair that they didn’t expect to find within themselves with such intensity.

Polarization has intensified. Tempers are running high. And there is something in this climate that deserves attention: a collective fear settling in, a hatred that spreads quickly and finds an easy welcome, because when we are frightened, anger seems to offer a sense of strength and direction.

But any action that comes from this place, any word, any choice, any stance born of fear and hatred, is a compromised action. Not because the cause is wrong, but because the frequency it comes from contaminates everything it touches. And in the long run, hatred never builds what it promises to build.

Taking a Stand Without Losing Yourself

Taking part in the political life of our country matters. Keeping our eyes open to what is happening, not pretending everything is fine when it isn’t, taking a stand, having conversations, defending what we believe in, getting actively involved when that is our calling. None of this is in question.

What is worth observing is where this participation is coming from. When we speak, when we act, when we take a stand, who in us is in charge? Is it consciousness, genuine discernment? Or is it fear, anger, the need to defeat others?

There is a phenomenon very present right now: the pleasure of hating together. When we find a common enemy, we experience a sense of belonging. Shared hatred works like social glue. And it is very easy to believe we are defending a just cause while we are actually being taken over by a frequency that doesn’t belong to us. This is a subtle trap, and it is worth staying very aware of it.

Vibrating High Amid the Chaos

Trust is not naivety. It doesn’t mean closing our eyes to reality or cultivating an artificial joy that ignores what is happening. It means looking at reality as it is, recognizing the challenges clearly, and still not handing over our consciousness to fear.

Because when fear starts to determine the frequency we live in, when despair begins to color every interpretation of reality, when hatred begins to seem like a legitimate response, we lose something very precious. Presence. The connection with what is highest in us. And from that place, even the best intentions produce results that perpetuate the cycle we want to break.

Now, we are called to move through this period with our feet on the ground and our consciousness elevated. Firm in our purpose, without being dragged down by the density. With the courage to take a stand, but also with respect for those who think differently. Holding a frequency of love and discernment within ourselves, and within our homes, amid the chaos.

No election result can do this for us. And no election result can take it away from us, if we choose to protect it.

There is a flag that deserves to be raised every day, no matter what happens out there. The flag of love. And that flag only each of us can raise.

Namaste,
Sri Prem Baba
