We are facing a significant civilizational challenge that tests the balance of humanity on this planet. As we advance in science and technology, ignorance in the form of violence spills human blood in various parts of the planet. The Hamas vs. Israel conflict dominates the news, polarizes debate on social networks, and unsettles hearts worldwide in the face of atrocities. But today, there are at least eight wars happening simultaneously around the world. In 2022, there were 55 conflicts involving states in 38 countries. At the same time, in Brazil, we have police lethality, operations in the favelas, organized militia action, and a population with growing fear… Amid so many problems involving wars and conflicts, there is an even greater war that we need to fight: the war of love.
Without entering the geopolitical sphere of conflicts, I invite you to look from the spiritual perspective at humanity’s collective karma with the wars that torment us. After all, what can you do in the face of war, and why does it make sense to talk about love at this time? If we study in depth what is behind the great conflicts, we will be able to look beyond our limited conditioned ego. It’s not Russia and Ukraine. It’s not Israel and Hamas. It’s beyond. Remember that everyone is a victim, as the victim is on both sides of the weapon. Terrorist acts and reactions to them leave severe consequences for a long time. But, in this case, I’m also talking about other real victims: a victim of the ignorance of forgetting oneself. A victim is someone who is identified with their pain and treating evil with evil.
We are connected to everything that happens on this planet. No matter how physically distant you are from the conflicts, if a bomb explodes in your neighbor’s place or miles away, it affects the mental and emotional health of all humanity, impacting our collective unconscious. Many people are suffering, many negative emotions are activated. Being incarnated on this planet, whatever happens here has some impact on you.
By being aware of this, you can start to alchemize your individual wars so that you are not a channel of violence and unconsciousness in your life. It’s very easy to look at the news, see the number of dead, and identify the unconsciousness of those responsible for this misery. But if you have no power to reduce these conflicts directly, you might get lost in this without looking at the wars you live in your daily life. How much suffering is the violence that you channel in your relationships generating?
I have worked with my students on developing the qualities of what I call a “warrior of love.” Living in times of “Parivartan,” which is the great planetary transition we are going through, requires you to be a warrior of love, capable of developing an unbreakable commitment to non-violence. A good warrior of love is one who has the necessary firmness and courage to pay with love for the violence he or she received. This is possible, but it requires training. A good warrior is forged in times of adversity like ours.
In times of war, strengthen your warrior of love, for you will be called to enter the battles and constantly use your violence. The price you pay for being a channel of violence is to give up your peace and block your love.
We need to work intensely to deprogram this deep imprint from our system, which is a law for the vast majority of souls on this planet: an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. I mean, it’s necessary to undo the pacts of revenge, which are the cores of hatred that we carry. If the universal solvent for all evils is love, if love is the medicine for all our diseases, the only possibility for this love to manifest is by dissolving this hatred, nourishing your courage to love every day regardless of the external conditions that present themselves. As the song by Jorge Drexler says, “hatred is the guide of cowards,” so “let’s arm ourselves with courage.”
To love is something for those who have courage.
