Prem Baba, there are more and more people complaining about the corporate world, feeling suffocated at work, many ending up getting sick. What to do to enlighten corporations?
A: This is one of the challenges of this transition that we’ve been experiencing. How to make human associations live in love, in cooperation?
I’m referring both to non-profit social organizations that are like a marriage, a family, and for-profit corporations.
Of course, when the association involves money, I would say that the challenge multiplies, since the dysfunctional ego ends up using the fear of scarcity to manipulate the other and draw energy from them. The dysfunctional ego relies on the belief that money solves all problems and the vast majority of humanity is totally held hostage to that belief. This is where abuses of power and of authority occur. It’s where many of the diseases of the ego manifest in a very free way and on top of that supported by a whole system of beliefs that have been operating in the collective mind of organizations for centuries.
Who can help change this situation in corporations, Prem Baba?
A: Only the ones at the top have the possibility to transform this organizational culture that acts autonomously.
We certainly lack conscious leadership, including the conscious leadership whose belief is that love is what enables the health of that company which guarantees the flow of prosperity.
I am not here talking about prosperity just as profit – profit is obviously part of this game –but it needs to be seen as the result of love in motion.
Capitalism needs to be reinvented and this reinvention will only happen as leaders start to awaken and invest time and money in training everyone who is with them.
How do you see this training? What kind of training would this be, Prem Baba?
A: We have to invest time and money in human development. As leaders begin to awaken, they begin to realize that what causes stress is the emptying of love. That’s when fear takes over the game.
That is, along with fear come all the legions of the inferior nature – competition, dispute – in order to reach a goal that is empty of purpose. Because if there is no love, there is no purpose.
For purpose is love in motion and is in service of something. When the leadership begins to awaken, whoever is with them start to be able to come along. A possibility arises. We are talking about levels of consciousness. In this sense, it’s possible that some leaders are not yet at a stage of consciousness in which they will adapt to this change in culture.
Consequently, there may be a need for repositioning. However, it’s important that the leadership opens up the way so that those who are with them can also rise.
Prem Baba, corporations often take too much from their employees. How can you talk about love in companies?
A: Yes, it’s strange to talk about love in corporations. But with certainty I will tell you that this is already happening in some places. This has been more and more emerging because leaders are waking up and understanding that it’s in this place and in this work that people spend most of the day and that they dedicate their lives to this cause.
At the same time, this cause cannot be just a material enrichment. This cause really needs to be connected with something bigger to make sense.
It has to make sense so that you can wake up in the morning with joy. It has got to be connected to the heart, it has got to have love. Because what you want is to be able to breathe love.
There are people who start to suffer at the end of their vacation when they know they need to go back. What do you have to say to them, Prem Baba?
A: This is a deep and complex issue. First, it’s clear that whoever starts suffering before the return is because they are not in the place they would like to be.
Undeniably, this person is identifying a discomfort in being in that place and the dimension of despair is a sign that for a long time they have been forcing themselves to be in that place.
Anyway, this discomfort means something to the person, there is a message there. Perhaps the person is not where he or she should be. This is an issue that needs to be addresse
Prem Baba, but don’t you agree that it’s not easy to make changes, especially in work?
A: Changes are sometimes challenging. They trigger insecurities, fears and uncertainties. However, at some point in life you have to deal with it.
There must certainly be a movement towards the purpose of the soul, because if there is discomfort and displeasure, the person is not aligned with the purpose. Although it is important to remember that this movement towards purpose has its time.
Everything is a process. However, it’s inevitable that at some stage in this journey a person needs to go through the eye of the storm, through the turbulence of change that involves death, an end, sometimes mourning, a neutral zone and then a fresh start. In fact, sometimes the person goes through all of this during the movement of consciousness.
Some people end up activating panic, depression and a series of difficult symptoms because they are making this transition at the same time they move, as they have no choice since they have bills to pay, family to care for, etc.
There are professionals who lack the energy to change the situation. Prem Baba, is it possible that they block themselves and fail to succeed in their careers?
A: Perhaps the first step is to change the sentence. Rather than saying: “they can’t do it”, maybe it is: “they don’t want to”.
Then the question must be asked: is it really that they don’t want to? It’s necessary to use self-observation and investigate this part where one feels without energy to change the situation.
Who in you is so exhausted, so tired? Why? Maybe you’re fooling yourself. Or maybe you don’t want to change it. At first, this is the spot where we enter a very difficult place, when even speaking about it is difficult.
“How come? Will it be that I don’t I want to get out of this hell? ”
Nevertheless, as much as you are dedicating yourself and doing what you consider to be your best, if you are still in this situation it’s because you are deceiving yourself. You are still not doing your best in this inner search to see your “no” for transformation.
How can one stop self-deception, Prem Baba?
A: Life is a mirror: all the difficulties that are outside are a reflection of a tangle that is inside.
When the person says that they block themselves, they have already identified it. Great! Okay, a step has been taken!
Now, it’s necessary to take a second step. Why do you block yourself? What are you getting for putting yourself in this place?
I can affirm to you that there is a gain. There is always a gain. The inferior nature always acts in the bargain. Nothing is never for free.
See, you’re never in a bad situation for free. The inferior nature is always there wanting to reach somewhere, to take something, to have an advantage. In the same way, it can be revenge, a protest, or a way to get attention. There’s always a reason why.
So I’m suggesting focusing on self-observation to see why. This is practical. So, is it clear that self-observation should be cultivated daily? Now that you have come this far, I can suggest that you move on to another reading, since expanding consciousness and connecting with your purpose is a journey to accept and retain the teachings.
