Baptized as Janderson Fernandes de Oliveira, he was born in São Paulo in 1965 under challenging circumstances. The son of a teenage mother and abandoned by his biological father, he was raised by his grandmother, a medium who converted to evangelical Christianity. His childhood was marked by exposure to various spiritual traditions, which later shaped his universalist vision.
As a teenager, he began exploring Yoga, taking his first steps into the rich Vedic culture. He became a teacher of this ancient art, but his thirst for answers led him on a boundless spiritual journey, building bridges between Gnosticism, psychology, Pathwork, Amazonian shamanism, and Vedic knowledge.
At age 33, his quest reached a turning point when he arrived at the foothills of the Himalayas in India and met his guru, Sri Hans Raj Maharajji. Under the guidance of this enlightened master, Sri Prem Baba was initiated into the ancient Sachcha lineage, dedicated to awakening universal love. It was there that he attained enlightenment and received the name he carries today, which means “Father of Love” in Hindi.
Since then, Sri Prem Baba has been a beacon for thousands of seekers worldwide, integrating the wisdom of various traditions into a unique psycho-spiritual development method. His work goes beyond words: he inspires by example, teaching that spirituality is practical, experiential, and accessible to all.
Annually, he leads retreats and satsang seasons in Brazil, the United States, and India, sharing knowledge and offering Darshan—the transmission of blessings. Through the Sri Prem Baba Academy, he connects seekers in more than 35 countries, offering classes, satsangs, and online spiritual guidance to over 700 students, creating a global community committed to personal transformation and awakening consciousness.
Sachcha means “Truth,” specifically the absolute truth that lies beyond the transience of life. This lineage originated in India and follows the Vedic tradition of parampara, the transmission of knowledge through a succession of gurus and disciples, preserving wisdom.
Sri Katcha Baba lived in the late 1800s near Varanasi, the city of Shiva known as a portal for rituals for those who have passed. He was a powerful yogi and tantric master, even sought by King George of England for blessings and guidance. Katcha Baba realized the grave state of degradation humanity had reached, heading toward self-destruction. Compassionately, he initiated a spiritual practice to accelerate humanity’s degradation so it could restart with greater consciousness. However, his direction changed after meeting the next guru in the lineage, who became his disciple.
A powerful saint named Sachcha Baba Giri Nari lived an age exceeding 400 years, according to tradition. When his old body became frail, he transferred his spirit to a young man who had died by the Yamuna River in Hamirpur. His old body remained in that spot.
Giri Nari was considered an incarnation of the celestial Rishi Narada. He had no permanent residence or ashram, often traveling through Rajasthan and Varanasi. Despite his humble appearance, kings of the places he visited revered him.
Sachcha Baba Giri Nari realized that humanity’s fear of death, disbelief in God, and selfishness led them away from truth. His mission was to establish truth, spreading love and compassion to awaken divine consciousness. He eventually met Sri Katcha Baba, who was attempting to change the world through destruction. After rigorous tests, Katcha Baba recognized the sincerity of Sachcha Baba Giri Nari and agreed to transform the world through light and love instead of destruction. Katcha Baba passed on Vishnu’s power to him, merging it with the celestial power of Narada.
In 1936, Kulanandaji approached Sachcha Baba Giri Nari seeking help with employment. Baba advised him to stay with him for some time, which led to Kulanandaji’s enlightenment within days. Kulanandaji became Baba’s personal assistant until Sachcha Baba Giri Nari left his body on June 16th, 1944. Following his guru’s Mahasamadhi, Kulanandaji experienced a divine call leading him to Uttarakhand, where he lived in a cave for two years. After significant spiritual experiences, he received the mantra “Prabhu Aap Jago” at the Jagannath Temple in Puri. He built the Sachcha Ashram in Prayagraj in 1953 and continued his work until his Mahasamadhi on September 6th, 1983.
Sri Hans Raj Maharajji was a family man and government employee who had visions of Hindu deities since childhood. In 1955, he visited Sachcha Baba seeking help for digestive issues. Through a fire ceremony, he experienced a vision of Lord Krishna as a child and attained enlightenment. He became a Sadhu in 1964 and spread the teachings of the Sachcha lineage across India. In 1976, he founded the Sachcha Dham Ashram in Rishikesh. Maharajji’s Mahasamadhi is located at the ashram, where his legacy continues to inspire seekers worldwide.
